What is Education? Estyn

Within our what is education lecture we are having a number of different guest speakers. This week it was a gentleman from Estyn. We found out about the inspection process with education. He showed us the inspection criteria which schools are marked against. I felt I knew alot about what he was saying through knowing an English teach who has told me alot about how inspections work, however it was interesting. Seen as the gentlemen was very welcoming it made inspections seem less scary for when I become a teacher.

Christmas Technology

Over the Christmas period I noticed there was a great deal of technology being used. From presents to the usual tasks we carried out on a day to day basis.... technology played an integral part of Christmas more so this year than any previous year. From iPads to Kindles to indivuals iphones and blackberrys. Even with the distractions and mountains of presents people could still not function without their smart phones! Children were more interested in playing with Angry birds than their sacks of toys... weldone Santa!

Animation Creations

This week in our ICT lecture we were asked to create animations using the software 2simple 2animate. The reason for doing this is to enhance communication with others. I found this enjoyable and very interesting, it gave me an insight into how cartoons are made. I will add my animation to my blog to show what I have created.
Also within the lecture we created a delicious account to mark our favourite websites so that we can easily axcess at a later date for our assignments.
Finally within the lecture we discussed the changes in education through time. To present our information to the rest of the class we used our WIKIs.
